Theta Sigma Sigma
Inducted October 24, 2021

Soror Adu has been an educator for the NYC Department of Education for 16 years. In that time, she has shared her passion for science as a lead teacher, coached varsity cheer, and mentored first-year in-service teachers. The desire to build and foster community is one of the main reasons she chose to work in education. Utilizing individual skill sets as part of a group of like-minded people with the same focus and purpose is something Soror Adu values and tries to instill in her students every day.

In her spare time, Soror Adu enjoys the company of her husband and four children and reading. She is also a competitive ballroom dancer, and budding archer with the goal of participating in the 2024 Olympics.

“Sigma came into my life at a time where I needed connection to community and genuine friends. The ladies of Theta Sigma Sigma were so welcoming and just plain nice. In every way, they truly embodied our core value of sisterhood. It was like coming home.”
